Sh*t hit the fan.

Never judge a book by its cover & never assume that just because the picture looks hunky dory that it went smoothly. I have so much respect for parents of multiple kids who have taken pictures with me after taking these. Madi did sucha good job capturing us and I’m shocked by how many good ones we got. ⠀

Not because I don’t think she’s fully capable of documenting it well but because Walker and I weren’t vibing, Aug was pissy the whole time, and well Avie is just a cute little sack of potatoes. Just goes to show how good Madi is at what she does. ⠀

I just crawled into bed after what feels like the longest day of my life. Looking at these pictures make me happier. One day I’m gonna miss the chaos. To fill you in and full transparency of the Diary of the Davidson’s… ⠀

A lot happened but one example… Today went a little like this... I was FaceTiming my sister after giving up a fight over a toothbrush with Auggie. He lurvvvvs to run around with it in his mouth, stresses me outttt. (It’s the toothbrush in the pictures.) Right now his fixations are brushes of any kind, especially toothbrushes, leaf blowers, going outside, (which I’m so glad he loves to) acorns, and vacuums. You can hardly get these items out of his hands if he spots one.

Well he got quiet and I was in the middle of a diaper change for Avie on the couch. Avie mid change she decided to crap on the couch the biggest number 2 ever.

Swiftly and crying I ended the FaceTime. I had to remove all my clothes, her clothes, & the couch cushions. ⠀

⠀Realizing Auggie was quiet… which is never a good sign with a toddler. So I sprinted half naked postpartum jiggle in all, through the house to where I thought I would find him.. the bathroom. He was there.

He had shimmied the sink and was sitting in the sink still holding his toothbrush. ⠀

I got him down thinking he’d follow & I went to grab Ava.

Nope.

I had to go back to find him dipping his toothbrush in the toilet. I startled him because he knows he’s not suppose to do it. Replaying it in my head it makes me giggle thinking about how he jumped at the sight of me.

Mid attempt of trying to put it in his mouth I snatched it and threw it out. A F5 terrible almost two tantrum unraveled from there. I felt bad slash still feel bad how I handled taking the toothbrush from him knowing how much he loves it. I panicked in the moment. Who knows how many times he did this before making it back in there. Honestly, I don’t even want to know.

I felt bad and we were both in full tears at this point so we went outside to cool off. Going outside definitely helped defuse the situation.

As I lay in bed now after the tornado of the day settled I can’t help but laugh & smile at these pictures. Especially the pic of Auggie with his toothbrush.. I told Madi it’s real life and he loves it so whatever it can be in the pictures. I’m glad we documented this day with him holding it not knowing we would later have to say RIP to the toothbrush.

Somedays you feel like the best mom in the world and then the next you are humbled real quick.

These are things I’ll never forget.

I’m sorry if these long posts annoy anyone. Writing for me is just a way for me to process the day, look back on the season, and work out my own crazies. SAHM life and two under two isn’t for the weak. 🥴🫶🏼
