Lavender Haze

I hosted my first ever styled shoot and I couldn’t be more excited about how it all came together. I’ve had a vision to do pictures with a ladder for sometime. After chatting with Chelsea the owner of the beautiful venue space we shot at, I decided to make the jump and make the styled shoot happen. If you haven't got the chance to shoot at First North don’t wait. It photographs to perfection.

I then got on Facebook Market Place and found an old ladder for $20 and created my color scheme. Amazon and my mother in law were the real MVPs being that pretty much everything came from Amazon. the dresses, socks, floral vases, and heels were all Amazon. My mother in law was a huge help to making everything come to life. I sent her my vision for the shoot and she knocked it out of the park on the floral.

I contacted my friend and previous bride of mine to see if she would be interested in modeling. It happened to be her 30th birthday today and it was fun getting photograph her for her 30th. I have taken Taylor’s pictures for years. Knowing she looks beautiful in purple I knew she was the chick for the job. She absolutely killed it per usual. Also, Brittany did an incredible job on Taylor’s makeup. I am so happy with how everything turned out it makes me teary eyed thinking about it. I don’t know why I was so intimidated to do a styled shoot. I think it’s because it seemed overwhelming to me. Chelsea was a a tremendous help with walking me through how to handle selling tickets and all the things that I was unsure about.

In the past few years I have really struggled with photography burn out. There was a period of time where I really dreaded picking up my camera. After almost 10 years of shooting I was ready to call it quits and I’m so thankful I was hanging on by a thread up until this point. Today was exactly what I have been needing.

I’m realizing how important it is to do things like this to just create. Today definitely filled my cup. I loved getting to hang out with the girls who signed up for my content day. I’m currently chomping at the bit with excitement to see what everyone captured today. I hope you enjoy looking through these photos as much as I enjoyed bringing this project to life.

I can’t thank my mother in law enough with assisting me on making this project come to life. She has an incredible eye for design and when it comes to floral arrangements. I have learned so much from her through the years from an artistic standpoint. She sees the world through a lens that I find to be so intriguing. She is wildly talented and I’m so thankful to have her on my team.

Love you Net!
